MIP Application Process

A MESSAGE FROM...Randle Frashier,
North Georgia State MIP Coordinator

I sincerely appreciate your interest in the Ministerial Internship Program.  Regrettably, the response for the upcoming 2013-2014 term has been extremely low and does not meet the minimum number required to go forward with the program this year.

The MIP Board met at length to discuss the matter and consider the options.  Due to the significant resources involved in operating this program, the decision was made to postpone it until next term.

It is my earnest hope that you will consider applying next year for the 2014-2015 MIP term.  We will begin accepting applications in January 2014.  Please see below for details on the MIP, requirements for participating in the program and information on the application process.

To apply for the 2014-2015 MIP Term:

Please note that applicants must have completed the CAMS study course and hold Exhorter's credentials prior to applying for the MIP.  (For information on the CAMS study course, please contact Joy Carroll here at the State Office -- Phone 770-274-1207 or Email joy@ngacog.org.)

Important Note:  Spouses of married candidates are required to attend the orientation and the monthly seminars, and to complete the MIP course of study and monthly exams.

To apply for the MIP, kindly complete the Intern application and return it to the address below, along with your supervising pastor's application and a check for the $15 application fee.  Checks should be made payable to Church of God State Fund.   Both the intern and supervising pastor applications are subject to approval by the Administrative Bishop.  We have extended the application deadline is August 1, 2014.

Mail applications to:
Rena Linscott, MIP Secretary
North Georgia Church of God State Office
962 Parkside Walk Lane
Lawrenceville, GA  30043

On your application, please be sure to indicate which of the study options you want (e.g. Option 2/Married).  These are listed on the Financial Information sheet (link below).  (FYI, most interns select Option 2.  This allows you to access the lessons and take your exams online at your convenience, thus avoiding the added cost of purchasing the DVDs and having to take the exams in written form proctored by your supervising pastor.)

There will be an Orientation Meeting for approved MIP interns, their spouses and their supervising pastors in September 2014--date and location to be determined.   Attendance is a requirement.  Please be aware that your down payment must be received at the State Office prior to this meeting (see financial sheet).

There will be monthly Saturday seminars beginning in October 2014 and concluding in May 2015 (most take place on the first Saturday of the month).  A schedule of dates and locations will be provided at a later date.

I hope you will make the choice to further your ministry education through this worthwhile program.  I believe you will find the experience most beneficial.

In His service,

Randle  Frashier
